► Why Volunteer?
“I joined the Executive of the School Council because it put my skill set and desire to make a difference to use. I also think this type of role helps keep you in the know, and aids in building a school community that can accomplish a great deal more than I could do on my own.”
“Initially I joined the Fundraising Society as we were new to the school and I wanted to learn more about the school community, and meet parents. It has really helped me stay connected with the school, hear about “what’s happening” from the school admin team and teachers, and it’s allowed me to gain a broader perspective of how I, a parent, can play a supportive role. I’ve met some truly amazing parents along the way, built new friendships and as a group, we come up with fun ways to raise money for the school and help enrich our kiddos’ school life. Consider getting involved! It doesn’t only benefit the school and the kids, you may also really enjoy it! It’s a really great group of parents.”
“I came into the position because I want to show my kids how important education is to us. Seeing my volunteer work gives them an additional sense of ownership at the school. I also get to know about things that are going on at the school early, and that is always a perk!”
