WCSU’s Kathwari Honors Program is designed to engage students in fundamental modes of inquiry found in various academic fields and to illustrate the importance of an interdisciplinary approach to exploring a topic or issue.
The best and brightest WCSU students are invited to apply to the interdisciplinary Kathwari Honors Program, where motivated and intellectually gifted students are able to engage their exceptional talents and excel.
In April 2015, the Kathwari Honors Program received a $1 million endowment from Mr. and Mrs. Farooq Kathwari and celebrated the renaming of Alumni Hall as the Irfan Kathwari Honors House.
March 5, 2015, Mr. Farooq Kathwari, CEO of Ethan Allen, headquartered in Danbury, CT, and his wife, Farida, gifted $1 million to create an endowment, in honor of their late son, Irfan, that supports WCSU's Honors Program. Read more about the endowment HERE.

Nicole is a graduate student pursuing an MFA in Creative and Professional Writing. After ten years of teaching middle school English, I currently work at an education non-profit that supports K-12 schools. I love learning languages and traveling. I speak French and Spanish. Outside of work and school, you’ll find me hanging out with my dog or reading young adult fantasy novels. One of my favorite quotes comes from the great Toni Morrison: “If you find a book you really want to read but it hasn’t been written yet, then you must write it.”
