The Washington County Long-Term Recovery Team (WCLTRT) was formed in 2013 to help with long-term unmet needs to personal property in Washington County following the Missouri River flooding in 2011. Since then, the WCLTRT Board of Directors has continued to meet a few times a year to maintain our readiness in case of additional disasters.
The Mission Statement for the Washington County Long-Term Recovery Team is: The Corporation exists to help assess the extent of damage to non-business personal property caused by disasters in Washington County, Nebraska; to help facilitate and coordinate, if necessary, the delivery of recovery services from such disasters; and to provide resources, when available, to help meet the unmet needs of individuals impacted by such disasters. These services, as well as guidance and assistance, will also be provided to other jurisdictions as determined by the Board of Directors.
Due to the recently flooding in Washington County and surrounding counties in Nebraska and Iowa, the WCLTRT Board of Directors voted on March 22, 2019 to proceed with providing aid and assistance in the following ways:
In order to provide this aid and assistance, the WCLTRT is actively recruiting volunteers to help with the above activities.

Person’s with structural damage caused by the flooding should do the following:
1. Coordinate with their local jurisdiction regarding damage assessment and permitting requirements.
2. File with FEMA either by phone (800-621-3362) or online (www.DisasterAssistance.gov)
3. Register your cleanup needs with the Crisis Cleanup Hotline (833.556.2476). Reputable and vetted relief agencies will be notified of your need.
4. Call the Washington County Long-Term Recovery Team Hotline – 402.426.8881. Please leave a detailed message regarding your needs. Requests for assistance can also be emailed to wclongtermrecovery@gmail.com.
Financial contributions to the Washington County Long-Term Recovery Team can be mailed to 1646 Washington St, Blair, NE 68008. Checks can be made out to “WCLTRT”.

The Washington County Long-Term Recovery Team is a non-profit public benefit corporation registered in the State of Nebraska (registration #10173132), has been recognized as 501(c)(3) tax-exempt by the IRS (federal ID #46-5299369), and is a member of the Nebraska Voluntary Organizations Active in Disasters (NEVOAD). We support the National VOAD in promoting the message that the best donation to support disaster response and recovery is a financial donation to a trusted nonprofit organization engaged in disaster operations.
