My name is Anna Calhoun, aka Ms. Calhoun or Ms. C, and I am your new College Adviser! I work with the College Advising Corps whose mission is to "increase college access and completion among low-income, underrepresented, and first-generation college students in rural North Carolina", but essentially, I am here for all of your post-graduation planning. Anything from the college planning process to career readiness, gap years, internships, you name it, I can help!
I graduated from Fayetteville State University (Go Broncos!) in 2023 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, after completing my first two years at UNCG. I started pursuing a degree in Kinesiology (Exercise Science), but quickly found my passion within the education system instead. Helping high schoolers figure out their passions and how to pursue their goals is MY passion and I can't wait to help you figure out yours! I am a first-generation college student myself, and I didn't have a lot of help deciding my next steps after graduation, and I don't want y'all to make the same mistakes!
What do I do exactly?
I am a hybrid advisor which means I will be on campus two days, Monday - Tuesday, every other week, and available virtually every other day. I can help with:
