Supported mainly by the intention and need to prevent climate change and foster more efficient city developments, there is an overall global trend in promoting green, carbon-free, and sustainable smart cities.
The objective of the International Workshop on Clean Energy and Sustainable Smart Cities is to present and discuss the main trends and aspects impacting future city planning and management in the context of clean energy and sustainable development.
A keynote speech summarizes the ASCEND HORIZON EUROPE project initiative orchestrating zero-carbon buildings, active citizenship, decarbonized public spaces, and mobility to promote city development. An invited talk will, in sequence, present a real case of smart city initiatives in the Salvador municipality. Following that, a round table will discuss the interrelation of the main aspects present aiming at the evolution of cities planning, management, and deployment.
To allow the audience to have a vision of the essential aspects driving city planning, management, and deployment; and
To collect and discuss actual use cases and derive lessons learned from them.
