Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Dipl. Ing. Ralf Denzer is a Professor at Environmental Informatics Group (EIG), a member of the IFIP Working Group Computers and Environment (WG5.11), IFIP Technical Committee Information Technology Applications (TC5), and International Environmental Modelling and Software Society (IEMSS). Prof. Denzer’s Research interests are in distributed systems, information systems for environment and security, interactive decision support systems, and parallelism.
He graduated in Electrical Engineering from the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA), specializing in Telecommunications Engineering from the same academic institution. He has around 25 years of diverse professional experience in the public and private sectors. Former President of Companhia de Governança Eletrônica do Salvador – COGEL, he led actions to accelerate the Digital Transformation process during the Pandemic and coordinated the elaboration of the Smart City Technology Master Plan - PDTCI, which aims to build the city of tomorrow, transforming Salvador in Smart City and leading it to the ranking of the World's Smart Cities.
Guido Lemos de Souza Filho, Secretary of Science and Technology of the Municipality of João Pessoa; He is a Full Professor at the Department of Computing Systems at the Informatics Center of the Federal University of Paraíba (DI-CI-UFPB) and a Ph.D. in Informatics from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-RIO). Founder of LAVID (Nucleus for Research and Extension in Digital Video Applications), where he develops research in digital television, video distribution networks, distributed artistic performances, accessibility, telehealth, and blockchain. He worked on creating middleware Ginga, software installed in around 150 million TV sets, published in ITU-T and ITU-R recommendations, and adopted as a standard in Latin America. He was the coordinator of the REUNI project that increased from 20 to 45 thousand students at UFPB. He also serves as a member of the Deliberative Council of the Forum of the Brazilian Digital Television System and a Counselor of the Universalization of Telecommunications Fund (FUST).
Professor at Salvador University (UNIFACS) and Ph.D. in Computer Science at Université Pierre et Marie Curie - UPMC, Paris (1986). International Professor at HTW - Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft des Saarlandes (Germany) since 2003, Senior Research Period at Université of Paris-Saclay in 2016, Salvador University head and researcher at NUPERC (Computer Network Group) and IPQoS (IP QoS Group) research groups on Smart Cities, Network Slicing, Machine Learning, Resource Allocation and Smart Grid. Previously worked as Invited Professor at Université Paris VI and Institut National des Télécommunications (INT) in France and as a key speaker, teacher, and invited lecturer at various international congresses and companies in Brazil and Europe. Member of the Board of Trustees of the Bahia State Research Support Foundation (FAPESB). Member of IEEE Smart City and former member of IEEE Smart Grid Research Committees.
