Current research: Ecology and Habitat study of sloth bear in central Gujarat

Sachin is currently working as Research Scholar at Wildlife and Conservation Biology Research Lab. He did his Masters in Zoology from the Department of Life Sciences, HNG University, Patan. During his masters, he studied the activity patterns and behaviour of three sympatric cats under captivity at Kamla Nehru Zoological Garden, Ahmedabad. Currently he is working on Ecology and Habitat study of sloth bear in central Gujarat, a joint research project with Vadodara Wildlife Division, Gujarat state Forest Department. Sachin has created a short video documentary on “Working in sloth bear landscape” and actively involved in public awareness activities for wildlife and conservation. He has been instrumental in various activities of WCB research lab. He is keen to develop his career in the field of wildlife biology, especially the ecology of large mammals and their conservation through community awareness.

Current research: The ecological role played by vultures and other scavengers with funeral traditions of the Parsi community

Jill is doing her masters in Environmental Science and completed bachelor in Zoology from Saurashtra University, Rajkot. She was very keen in observing wildlife from her childhood and visiting many wilderness areas with her father, who is a wildlife photographer. With growing age she decided to study wildlife and build her career in the field of wildlife conservation. During her bachelors, she did a short term study on “Waders and their identification techniques at different wetlands around Jamnagar”. Currently she is working on “Ecosystem services by scavengers to the local community” in a collaborative project with Institute for Nature Conservation, Polish Academy of Science, Poland. She is keen to take part in field expeditions, wildlife photography and exploring different ecosystems to study wildlife. Her goal is to pursue her further studies in the field of avian biology and contribute her best to the conservation.
