How We Research
We compare products from their published specs and features; the verdicts below are our independent editorial opinions.
If you want a direct memory-foam upgrade for your AirPods Pro that keeps its seal and still drops into the charging case, choose WC TipZ; if you need to bring a worn-out pair of Bose over-ear headphones back to life with fresh memory foam cushions, choose Krone Kalpasmos Earpads. These two products both use memory foam, but they solve completely different problems for two completely different listeners.
• WC TipZ biggest strength: Purpose-built memory foam tips that fit the AirPods Pro only, sold in one package with Small, Medium and Large pairs so you can dial in your seal.
• WC TipZ biggest trade-off: It is not a headphone pad at all — if you own Bose over-ears, this product does nothing for you, and it will not fit other AirPods models.
• Krone Kalpasmos Earpads biggest strength: Full replacement ear cushions for a long list of Bose QuietComfort and AE2/SoundTrue around-ear models, with memory foam, a cloth-and-leather pressed surface and a dust mat.
• Krone Kalpasmos Earpads biggest trade-off: It is strictly a Bose over-ear part — it will not touch an earbud, and it will not fit non-Bose headphones.
• Who WC TipZ is for: AirPods Pro owners chasing a tighter, more secure in-ear fit.
• Who Krone Kalpasmos Earpads is for: Bose QuietComfort or AE2/SoundTrue around-ear owners whose cushions are flat, cracked or uncomfortable.
WC TipZ is a set of memory foam ear tips made by Wicked Cushions for the Apple AirPods Pro. That is the whole point of the product, and it is worth saying plainly: these tips are designed for the AirPods Pro and AirPods Pro 2, they do not fit AirPods Pro 3, and they will not fit any other AirPods earbuds. If your earbuds are not an AirPods Pro, stop reading here and look elsewhere.
What the tips actually do is replace the silicone tips that come with the AirPods Pro. Silicone is fine until it isn't — it can slip, it can feel hard after an hour, and it does not always hold a seal once your ears warm up. Memory foam behaves differently. It softens against the ear canal, expands to fill the space and, per the product's own description, is designed to stay secure for longer so you can keep listening. The "better foam rebound" in the name is really about that recovery: the foam springs back so the tip keeps working session after session instead of staying crushed.
Buy it if you own an AirPods Pro or AirPods Pro 2 and the stock silicone tips slip, ache or lose their seal — and you want a size range in one box. Skip it if you own any other earbud or headphone, including AirPods Pro 3. This is a narrow, single-purpose product, and that narrowness is exactly why it works.
Krone Kalpasmos Earpads: Who It's For
Krone Kalpasmos Earpads are replacement ear cushions for Bose over-ear headphones, and the compatibility list is unusually long for this category: QuietComfort 35, QC35 II, QC25, QC2, QC15, plus AE2, AE2i, AE2w and SoundTrue around-ear. If you have one of those sitting in a drawer with cushions that have gone flat, cracked or shiny, this is the part that gives it a second life.
The construction is where the interesting choices are. The pads are pressed from cloth and leather and stitched all the way around, which the brand says tightens the seal and protects the sound. The outer surface is a grey patterned leather rather than plain black, so the headphones end up looking deliberate rather than merely repaired. Inside is memory foam, chosen for noise isolation and to support the sound coming out of the driver, and there is a dust mat as well — a small addition that keeps the inside of the cup cleaner and filters debris over time.
Installation is meant to be a few-minute job. No glue, no special tools beyond what is included, and the hollow, buckle and dimensions are made to match the original cushions so the fit and the sound signature stay close to stock. The brand also suggests replacing cushions every seven to eight months and notes these can be used for 180 days or more — a reasonable cadence if you wear your headphones daily, since foam compresses and fabric collects oil over time.
Buy it if you own one of the listed Bose models and want fresh, breathable, memory-foam cushions in a distinct look with a straightforward install. Skip it if your headphones are not on that list. This is a Bose-specific part, and no amount of stretching will make it fit something else.
Side-by-Side: Which Should You Choose?
• Best for Bose over-ear owners → Krone Kalpasmos Earpads. The compatibility list is the deciding factor here.
• Best for dialing in fit → WC TipZ. Three sizes in one package means you can experiment instead of committing to one guess.
• Best for restoring an older headphone → Krone Kalpasmos Earpads. A fresh set of cushions is the cheapest way to make tired headphones feel new again.
• Best for a distinctive look → Krone Kalpasmos Earpads. The grey patterned leather is a deliberate break from standard black.
• Best for case compatibility → WC TipZ. The tips are designed to stay on while the AirPods Pro sit in the charging case.
• Best for noise isolation → Krone Kalpasmos Earpads. Memory foam cushions plus a dust mat are aimed squarely at blocking outside sound on over-ears.
• Best for a no-tools install → both. WC TipZ is a straight swap; Krone Kalpasmos includes the tools and parts you need.
In my opinion, the right pick comes down to one question: what are you putting these on? If it is an AirPods Pro or AirPods Pro 2, I would buy WC TipZ — the three-size pack, the foam rebound and the charging-case fit make it the more useful purchase for that specific earbud. If it is a Bose QuietComfort or AE2/SoundTrue around-ear, I would buy Krone Kalpasmos Earpads, because nothing about a memory foam ear tip helps a headphone that needs new cushions. I would not buy either one hoping it works on the other's device. They are not competitors so much as two answers to two different questions.
You can, but the cushion design matters. The Krone Kalpasmos Earpads use memory foam with a soft cloth-and-leather surface, which is the kind of padding that stays comfortable against the head over a longer stretch. Sleeping in over-ears is still awkward because of the headband, so most people treat it as a nap rather than a full night.
Put the headband over the top of your head, not behind it, and slide the cups down until they sit centered over your ears. The cushion should surround the ear, not press on it. With the Krone Kalpasmos Earpads, the hollow and buckle are made to match the original Bose cushions, so they seat the same way the stock pads did.
A proper fit means the pads seal against the head with no gaps at the top or bottom edge, and the clamp feels firm but not tight. If you can feel the driver pressing your ear, the fit is off. Cushions that have gone flat — the exact problem replacement pads like the Krone Kalpasmos set address — break that seal and cost you both comfort and isolation.
They should sit snug enough to stay put when you move your head, with even pressure all the way around each ear. Memory foam cushions compress to your head shape, which is why they tend to hold a seal better than worn-out padding. If yours feel loose or leak sound, fresh cushions are usually the fix, and checking the current price on Amazon is the next step before you commit.
