About Our Neighborhood

The Samuel May Williams House at 3601 Avenue P was one of the earliest settlers of Galveston, and this  1839 home is one of the oldest on the island.

The Thomas Borden Home at 3827 Avenue P, was built in 1874 by Mr. Borden who was one of the  original 300 settlers of the Stephen F. Austin Colony. The home is currently the private residence of one  of our member families. 

Nancy Budde, one of our creative neighbors, has created a marvelous online presentation about the  Williams Borden neighborhood. You can view it all at once, or a little at a time. This presentation  provides a look back in history, as well as the current status of many of our historic homes.
