The NYS Education Department recently adopted amendments to the following:

1. Criteria under which students with disabilities graduating from high school may be eligible to earn a Local Diploma

• Amendments to the Superintendent's Determination went into effect for students graduating from high school on or after January 1, 2018. For more information, please visit: www.nysed.gov/news/2017/board-regents-expands-safety-net-option-students-disabilities-earn-local-diploma

2. Criteria for establishing an additional pathway for NYS residents to earn a NYS High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma

• An amendment to the Commissioner's Regulation 100.7 establishing a fourth pathway for NYS residents to earn a NYS High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma went into effect on April 25, 2018.
