West Broward Vocal and Choral Program under the direction of Javier I Diaz M.M. offers vocal technique, music theory, classical and popular repertoire, plus constant performing opportunities. Our State Superior rating choirs and Mr. Diaz have the potential to enrich your musical knowledge, but there are requirements for reaching that potential.
Meet our director
Born and raised in Colombia, Javier Iván Díaz is a musician, on-air personality and teacher who has been composing music since he was just 17. Iván began his college career at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá, Colombia and completed both a Bachelor of Music and Master of Arts in choral conducting at Florida Atlantic University after moving to the U.S.
Mr. Diaz has served as the National Catholic Youth Conference (NCYC) chorus director, NCCYM music director and high school choral director since 2011. Under the direction of Javier Diaz, the West Broward Concert Choir has received superior ratings at MPA since 2018. West Broward Show Choir has been recognized as a Superior ensemble since 2015 at the FVA Solo & Ensemble Festival. West Broward Concert choir debuted in 2018 at Carnegie Hall in New York City.
