WBHS Dance Team Tryouts

Welcome to our 2023-2024 tryout packet! We are super excited you are here. The dance team is coached and choreographed by Head Coach Amber Young and Specialty Coaches Haley Davidson and Jennifer Thorne. Our team performs at all home football and basketball games, and has also won numerous competitions with State, Regional, and National titles. With all this being said, we want to welcome you to our tryout page!

 We encourage all students to take part in our program; NO experience is necessary! Please review the following:

• Students MUST be willing to learn and work hard! One of our goals is to build our program for the future years. We need athletes to keep pushing for their success in our dance program.

• Students MUST have a good attitude! Our coaching staff has a strict NO BULLYING policy! We expect all of our dance team members to be respectful to one another. We want to teach you dance, how to work hard, but mainly how to be kind, respectful young women/gentlemen. 

• Students MUST present a "C" grade average prior to tryouts. In the event the athlete's grades are not at the standard passing level, the athlete's tryout packet will be dismissed at the Coach's/Judge's discretion. Remember, you are a student first! All grades will be checked quarterly after the selection process.

• Students MUST have all teacher recommendations completed and turned into Coach Young's box at WBHS no later than March 31st, 2023. Failure to have all teacher recommendations incomplete will result in the athlete's tryout packet to be discarded. 

• ALL tryout candidates MUST read our constitution and demerit system we have provided below. After the selection process, we will host a parent/dancer meeting. Our coaching staff will be introduced, and we will go into detail our expectations for the following 2023-2024 season. It is CRUCIAL you read all the information provided below.
