Wells Branch
Authors Guild

Purpose

The Wells Branch Writer's Guild is a group sponsored by the Wells Branch Community Library for helping writers of all ages improve their writing skills through peer reviewing coupled with presentations and discussions about writing and publishing.

I don't know who these people are, but they are having
so much fun, they must be part of the Writer's Guild!

How does this work?

We have two submission deadlines on the 1st and 15th of each month. When someone posts a writing sample, the other members of the guild have a couple of weeks to read the submissions and provide feedback, which we discuss as a group at the Sunday meetings.

To protect the interests of the Guild's writers, we ask that all members attend at least one meeting in-person prior to obtaining access to the submissions folders and group email list.

When there are lulls in submissions (which happens from time to time), we use meetings as write-in sessions or to discuss various writing or publishing topics.

Check out the About page for more details!

Who can join the Writer's Guild?

We are open to all flavors of writers looking to improve their skills and are open to the honest, constructive criticism from their peers.

We have had sci-fi, fantasy, horror, memoirs...We even had a writer submit a graphic novel storyboard. If there is ever a topic where you are not knowledgable or are uncomfortable providing feedback, just let the others know.

To join the Guild, just show up to one of the meetings!Â
