Last updated: 23 September 2026
WayPoint Navigation (Android package: waypoint.navigation) is developed by Volodymyr Zemlianyi. This policy explains how the app handles information.

LOCATION AND COMPASS INFORMATION
With your permission, the app accesses your precise or approximate location through Android location services, including GPS and other available providers. It uses coordinates, estimated accuracy, fix time, and compass sensor readings to show your position, calculate direction and distance, and guide you toward a waypoint. Location updates are requested while the navigation screen is active; the app does not run a background location-tracking service or record a continuous travel history.
These calculations take place on your device. The developer does not receive your location or compass readings. Android and your device's location-service providers may process information under their own settings and privacy policies, including when network positioning or assisted GPS is used.
SAVED INFORMATION
When you save a place, the app stores its name and coordinates locally, together with location accuracy and fix time when available. The selected waypoint and display preferences are also stored locally. No account is required, and the app does not upload this information to a developer-operated server.
The app contains no advertisements, analytics SDKs, or crash-reporting SDKs. It does not sell your information.
SHARING AND OTHER APPS
Sharing happens when you choose an action:
- SMS opens your messaging app with coordinates, estimated accuracy, fix time, and a Google Maps link. You choose the recipient and whether to send the message. The app does not read your messages or contacts.
- Copy places coordinates on the Android clipboard. Paste reads clipboard content when you tap a paste button, so you can enter a waypoint.
- Opening a waypoint in Google Maps passes its coordinates to Google Maps or your browser. Choosing a place through Google Maps opens that external service, and you can copy coordinates back into WayPoint Navigation.
Information you share is handled by the recipient, messaging provider, Google Maps, browser, or other selected service under their own privacy practices. Deleting information from WayPoint Navigation does not delete copies held by those services or recipients.
STORAGE, RETENTION, AND DELETION
Saved places and preferences are kept in the app's private storage on your device until you delete them or clear the app's data. Android's app-storage protections restrict ordinary access by other apps; the app does not add a separate encryption layer. Android backup is disabled in the app configuration.
You can delete individual saved places from the Saved places screen. Clearing the app's storage in Android Settings, or uninstalling it, removes its locally stored app data. Clipboard copies and information you shared outside the app must be managed separately.
YOUR CONTROLS
You can deny or revoke location permission in Android Settings at any time. Without location permission, features that depend on your current position will not work. You can also turn off device location services and choose not to use sharing or external-map features.
CONTACT AND CHANGES
If you email the developer, your email address and the information you include will be used to respond to your request. Please do not include precise coordinates or other sensitive information unless necessary for your question. You may contact the developer to request deletion of support correspondence, subject to any applicable retention obligations.
Changes to this policy will be published on this page with an updated date.
