Fantastic! Wayne Youth Lacrosse is run by volunteers and we always need help. Our Board is always looking for new members. Reach out to any of our Board members to find out more or email: WayneYouthLax@gmail.com.
We are always looking for coaches and assistants. Take a look at our Coaches page which details what is expected from our Wayne Youth Lacrosse coaches. Contact us and let us know you are interested. Bring your stick to your son or daughter’s practice. Coaches love the extra help and even if you can’t help every practice the extra help is ALWAYS appreciated.
No experience needed! Even help in shagging balls and setting up equipment for the next drill is much appreciated!
As we get closer to the start of each season we will update the Boys Coaches List and the Girls Coaches List with names and contact information for the coaches for each team. The number of coaches and the number of teams varies with the number of children registered. All coaches are volunteers and have varying levels of lacrosse experience. All coaches are there to help your child enjoy the game of lacrosse.
We can always use additional coaches – no experience necessary! See the Coaches Page for more information.
If you have questions on the specific background and/or training of any of our coaches, please ask!
For the Boys Teams:
A regulation lacrosse stick.
A NOCSAE approved lacrosse helmet (Hockey helmets are not acceptable).
A mouth guard that attaches to the helmet.
Arm and shoulder pads.
Gloves (Hockey gloves are acceptable but not recommended because they don't flex properly for lacrosse).
Athletic supporter with protective cup.
Rib pads are strongly recommended.
For the Girls Teams:
Sports Goggles
A regulation lacrosse stick
Rubber sole cleats are recommended. Sneakers and soccer cleats are acceptable footwear.
For the safety of all involved, we cannot let a player onto the field without the required equipment. Please be sure that your child has all of his equipment for practices, scrimmages and games.

Absolutely not! Many of our players are new to lacrosse. All players will practice and play together in an effort to develop a sense of team.
