Wayne Bruno is perhaps best known for his work as Arranger/ Producer, Guitarist and Musical Director for David Michael Rudder, one of the Caribbean’s greatest composers. Bruno has arranged and produced eleven CD albums for this living calypso legend, inclusive of a c.d. trilogy recording of the live concert event, "No Restriction", for which Bruno was the Musical Director. The Rudder/ Bruno record production collaboration, which yielded well over sixty songs, began with Rudder's "Feeding Frenzy" album in 1991 and ended in 2002 with his "Farewell to the Flesh" CD.
In 1993, Bruno expanded his portfolio and accepted an invitation from Spektakula Promotions International to become the Musical Director of the organization's "Calypso Spektakula" calypso tent and their concert productions; a vacancy created by the departure of distinguished musician and band-leader, Dr. Roy Cape.
As Musical Director for Spektakula Promotions International, the premier organization for the production of concerts in the Caribbean, Wayne Bruno together with his band Rapid Response, dominated the Caribbean landscape annually with colourful performances throughout the English-speaking Caribbean (including Barbados, Grenada, St. Vincent, St. Lucia, Dominica, Antigua among others).
Long before being acknowledged as an arranger, producer and musical director, Wayne Bruno was recognized for his virtuosity and versatility as a guitarist, featuring prominently on the jazz and contemporary circuits during the eighties. Having been a member of, recording and/or performing with such luminaries as Raf Robertson Jazz Group, Len "Boogsie" Sharpe, Richard "Nappy" Meyers, Charmaine Forde and the popular "Majors" pop band, it was during this period that Bruno established himself as one of the leading industry session musicians in Trinidad and Tobago, demonstrating a command of musical genres from calypso to jazz to R&B and other contemporary forms.
