Check tile direction, pattern, cut positions and grout colour. Photograph chips, cracks, marks and unfinished joints. Compare shade variation with the approved tile range rather than assuming all tiles should look identical.
Discuss noticeable differences between adjacent edges, thresholds, door clearances and finishing around fixtures. Ask where movement and flexible joints were specified and how they were treated.
For wet areas, request available waterproofing progress photographs and agreed test records. The tiled surface alone cannot confirm concealed waterproofing or adhesive coverage.
List each concern by room and exact location, with photographs, the contractor’s assessment and an agreed action. Confirm corrected items together.
Ask when the floor or wet area is ready for use, following the actual product instructions. Keep tile references, grout colour details, cleaning guidance and spare tiles where available.
