Dive meets start at 9:00 am, but please arrive at 8:00 am to warm up!  All dive events run the same schedule and location as swim meets.

· 10U at New Canaan Field Club 7/30 (Wednesday)

· 14/17U at Shorehaven 7/31 (Thursday)

· 12U at The Lake Club on 8/1 (Friday)

First day of Practice is Thursday, June 19th!

About The Coach

Hi Everyone! My name is Hannah Chuckas, and I am the new dive coach here at Waveny. I am 20 years old and will be going into my Junior year at the University of Florida. I am majoring in Psychology and minoring in Music Business and Sports Management. A little about my diving experience. I started diving in 8th grade after I was a competitive gymnast for many years. I competed for Whirlwind Diving at the New Canaan YMCA with Joe Somma from 8th grade until 12th grade. I also competed for my Highschool Stamford High and Westhill. During my Junior year of high school, I was the CT State LL and State Open Diving Champion. I was also the CT state diver of the year. During my Senior year of High school, I broke Stamford High's 6 and 11 dive records that were in place for 25 years. I was also the FCIAC Champion and the State LL and State Open Runner-up. I received the John Handfelt Award and was also named an All-American Diver in 2023. For my JO diving career, I was able to get 3rd on 1 meter at YMCA nationals my senior year and 8th on Platform at YMCA nationals. In my junior year, I qualified for zones on the 3-meter. Also, my junior year, I got 2nd on 1 meter and 3rd on 3 meter at AAU regionals. Overall, I have accomplished a lot during a short time through my diving career. I decided to focus on my studies going into college, which is why I am not diving for the University of Florida. Also, this is not my first rodeo coaching! I was a gymnastics coach at Chelsea Piers for 3 years, and last year I was the diving coach for Woodway Country Club, and I will continue to be their coach again this year. I was able to build their dive program, and one of my divers won the 14-year-old age division for girls at the county championships! I am excited to meet everyone so soon and share my knowledge of diving with all of your children.
