Bio - Short
WatR is a producer and DJ from Lofoten, above the Arctic Circle in Norway, making ethereal bass music: pretty melodies over filthy low end, moving between dubstep, UK garage, deep garage and DnB. He spent 15 years refining his sound far from the industry spotlight. When he finally took it to the dancefloor and found no scene for it, he built one.
He founded Lofoten Vibrance, the collective behind Solar Flow festival, then co-founded Oslo Vibrance, growing a bass community through forest raves and independent events around Oslo.
In 2026 he released the 12-track album Into The Wubs, now past 300K Spotify streams, and opened for Andy C and Harriet Jaxxon at Bass Odyssey, Vulkan Oslo.
Bio - Long
For most of his musical life, WatR made music far from the places where electronic careers usually begin.
Based in the Lofoten Islands, above the Arctic Circle, he spent around 15 years producing in near-isolation, moving between atmospheric sound design, dubstep, UK garage, deep garage, DnB and 140. Years of learning, restarting and experimenting slowly shaped a sound without a clear destination.
Eventually, waiting for a scene to appear stopped making sense, so he built one.
In 2022 he founded Lofoten Vibrance, bringing underground bass music into the landscapes of Northern Norway through independent raves, midnight-sun gatherings and the Solar Flow festival. When his live career moved south, the idea followed. In 2026 he co-founded Oslo Vibrance, growing a bass community in and around Oslo. Forests became dancefloors. Temporary stages appeared between the trees. Norwegian artists shared lineups with visiting UK talent, and a loose crew of producers, DJs, visual artists and ravers grew into a genuine scene.
His own career picked up speed alongside it. In 2026 he released the 12-track album Into The Wubs, which has passed 300,000 Spotify streams, led by “Draumar” and “Analogue Jam” at over 100,000 each. He played NXT_LVL in Bergen, then opened for drum & bass icons Andy C and Harriet Jaxxon at Bass Odyssey, Vulkan Oslo. It was a strange but fitting jump, from producing alone in Lofoten to standing behind a club system supporting artists who helped define international bass culture.
The music carries the same contrast. Shaped by North American bass culture and Norway’s forest-rave scene, it moves between ethereal, cinematic melodies and low end heavy enough to shake a sound system: pretty melodies, filthy wubs.
The stages are getting bigger, but the philosophy hasn’t changed: independent music, powerful places, community, and the belief that if the scene you want doesn’t exist, you build it yourself.

The Live Experience
WatR plays ethereal bass music built for big systems: pretty melodies, filthy low end. His sets are rooted in dubstep and deep 140, and flex with the slot. A deep opening run can drift through UK garage and halftime, while a late-night peak slot hits harder with heavy dubstep and drum & bass. Either way, the set builds the same way: atmosphere first, then pressure.
