About us

The Waterville Seed Library provides community members the resources to grow their own healthy, sustainable food at no cost. The seed library helps to reclaim seeds as a public resource and fosters a culture where local growing knowledge is easily shared. In concert with the Waterville Public Library’s purpose and mission, we celebrate human diversity in our community and strive to be inclusive and accessible to all.

Our Founders

Ketty Stinson

Ketty Stinson, Colby '21, is the head coordinator and one of the original founders of the Waterville Seed Library. Ketty was also awarded the Colby College O’Hanian-Szostak Fellowship for Civic Leadership to support her work with this project. Ketty loves spending time outside, but is not much of a gardener herself, so she is excited to get her hands dirty and learn more through all of you!

Caroline Wren

Caroline Wren, Colby '20, is one of the co-founders of the Waterville Seed Library. Caroline's love for public libraries and her environmental science background led her to start the project with Ketty in the fall of 2019. Caroline has since graduated, but we are so grateful for all of her work in laying the foundation for this amazing community resource.
