Rooting youth in sustainability for a better tomorrow!
Founded in 2023, Water the Roots empowers Arizona students to explore our state’s unique environment and discover ways to drive meaningful change. Through hands-on projects and creative crafts, we introduce elementary students to environmental sustainability and local climate challenges. Our goal is to plant the seeds for a more informed and active generation! Read about our past projects here!
We had a wonderful time collaborating with Conley Elementary School. It was a pleasure working with such engaged students and dedicated staff. Partnerships like these are at the heart of our mission, and we look forward to future opportunities to grow and learn together. Read about our time at Conley here!
We were honored to collaborate with Hartford Sylvia Envinas Elementary School, our very first school partner. Working with such enthusiastic students and dedicated educators made this experience incredibly meaningful. As the first school to join us on this journey, Hartford set the tone for what we hope will be many impactful partnerships to come. We’re excited to continue our journey and inspire change in our communities. Read about our time here!
The Youth Civic Impact Fellowship, supports ten young leaders across the country who are passionate about civic engagement and community action. As a Fellow, one of our founders, Siyaa Poddar, received mentorship and a $3,000 grant, which directly funds Water the Roots projects. This support has been essential in helping our initiative grow and reach more students across Arizona. Read about the experience here!
