Water Resources Seminar Series (WR 510, 1 credit)

Water resource program at the University of Idaho is organizing the Water Resource Seminar series during fall semester. The purpose of this seminar is to provide an opportunity for the students and public to get familiar with general water issues and challenges and to share information among agencies, faculty, students, consultants, and other water interests. For more information, please contact Jae Ryu at jryu@uidaho.edu

system modeling for water resources management (2 credits)

Lectures will mainly focus on demonstrating system dynamic modeling for many natural and water resources management applications, including 1) water resources management, 2) biological assessment, and 3) environmental studies in a changing global environment. System modeling offered by this class can be applied to sociopolitical studies as well so that students in other majors (e.g. public policy associated with water rights) are also welcome to take this class as optional or required courses for their needs. Hands-on workshop class will help students solve problems and provide self-learning times to complete their final project.

hydrological modeling and applications for sustainable water management (2 credits)

Lectures will mainly focus on demonstrating hydrological processes and modeling for many natural and water resources management applications, including 1) surface hydrology, 2)geospatial water data access, 3) hydrological modeling using HSPF for agriculture/snow dominated watersheds, and 4) hydrologic responses to global environment change (e.g.,climate change, land use change).
