Level 2 is designed to hone and embed the theory and practice of Lewis Deep Democracy so it becomes more natural in your facilitation and leadership. This course refreshes your understanding of the method while building confidence applying it in practice. Each session includes a check-in, a short teach to revisit the theory, and then practice time within a supportive group setting. Participants take turns leading the session, receiving support and feedback from the instructor. We keep class sizes small to maximize practice time.
NOTES:
Level 1 is a prerequisite for Level 2, and completing Level 2 is required before advancing to Level 3.
To complete Level 2, participants should attend at least 4 of the 5 group sessions.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is the format of each session?
We’ll start with a participant-hosted check-in, followed by a short instructor-led teaching to refresh the core concepts and tools from Level 1. We’ll then move into group process using the LDD tools, including the 4 Steps and Debate. You’ll take turns hosting and facilitating, while your instructor offers guidance, support, and feedback.
What kinds of topics will we work with?
We’ll work with real topics that are alive and meaningful for the group. Come with some topics you’d like to explore.
Are the classes recorded?
We record the teaching portions of each class, but not the group process. This helps preserve a space where participants can share openly and engage fully.
Will I receive the slides and course materials?
Yes. We’ll send the slides and a summary email after each session. Once you register, you’ll also receive a Level 2 handbook with more nuanced notes to build on your learning from Level 1.
What if I have to miss part of a class or an entire session?
To honour the relational and learning container for yourself and the group, we strongly encourage you to attend all sessions for the full duration. That said we recognize that folks are juggling many things. To complete Level 2, participants should attend at least 4 of the 5 group sessions.
What options are available if the full course fee is a barrier?
For Level 1 courses, we aim to reserve 20% of available spots for reduced-cost access. With the smaller class size for Level 2, we’re not able to offer reduced-cost spots in a sustainable way at this time.
Any suggestions on how to prepare?
Review your notes from Level 1, and bring your questions and any topics you’d like to explore using the tools.
