Getting into Mesmerizer

Hatsune Miku

Hatsune Miku is one of the main character that appeared in Mesmerizer. Miku was hypnotized before Teto did. In the music video, she was the person who stated that we should hide our true feelings to escape reality. Miku have turquoise eyes and pigtails that extend down to her shins

Kasane Teto

Kasane Teto is one of the main character that appeared in Mesmerizer. Teto was hypnotized at the very end of the video. She was the person who convice Miku hiding our feelings is not a good thing. Teto have red hair with drill locks on both sides (twin drills), a curled cowlick that sticks out on the top of her hair, and blood red eyes.

Akita Neru

According to a twitter/X post, Akita Neru was part of Mesmerizer but didn't show in the music video. People observed that the yellow tridecagram spinning in the middle is Neru, and she was the one who hypnotize Miku and Teto. Akita Neru has yellow hair consisting of an odd length of short and long, the long hair is styled into a left side-ponytail.

Meaning

Mesmerizer talks about hypnotization and esacping reality and hiding our feelings. It's also about the hardness of life and depression. The lyrics examine the desire to escape from reality and the danger of losing oneself to escapism.

Hypnotizing

Mesmerizer's music video was specially designed to get us hypnotize. Fast flashing, black and white, flashing color and spinning tridecagrams.

Tridecagrams

The stars that appears screen to screen in the music are called tridecagram. It symbolize immortality.

Outfits

If you notice, the outfits they wear in the music video looks like food/ice-cream shop uniform. It actually symbolize the hardness in life and a lot of people's struggle and stressfulness.

Seeking for help I

Verse's meaning

In the verse of the song, Miku was talking about hypnotization and our emotions. Teto was explaining how hiding our feelings is bad and we shouldn't do it. She was basiclly giving out soulutions/advice for Miku.

In the bridge of the song, Teto shows this sign with her hand which means help in American sign-language. The sign for "help" is made by forming a loose-thumb-A hand and lifting it with your other hand.

Miku wasn't seeking for help in any-way, she was only following the dance. This shows that Teto was the only person who was aware of reailty.

Thumbnail

In the thumbnail of the song Miku and Teto held up a pose with a yellow tridecagram between them, which looks like they were spelling out 'SOS'. Before the video, they were actually already seeking for help from the viewers.

Focus! tridecagram

Flashings

After the bridge when it says "Focus!" pointing at the tridecagarm, few seconds later, it quickly flashes the word "Mesmerizer!!" Before the chorus starts.

Chorus' meaning

In the chorus, it talks about how our generation is cooked and 'we're tailer maed for the morden time/this generation'. Which means life have been hard for many people as if we were made to be depress.

Vocals

Everytime when it comes to the chorus, Miku and Teto vocals was much higher than other parts in the song. This refers to screaming/screeching for help.

Seeking for help II

Morse code

During the chorus when Miku was singing, Teto was blinking with morse code which spell out "SOS" (... - - - ...) SOS stands for 'save our souls' which is refering to help.

Sign language

A few seconds before the quiz time ends, Teto did the sign language for "cry for help". The signal is performed by holding your hand up with your thumb tucked into your palm, then folding your fingers down, symbolically trapping your thumb in your fingers.

Quiz time!

After the chorus in 'quiz time!' If you take the first letter of every questions, it actaully spell out "HELP". This is the second time they try looking for help in the music video.

Falling into the trick off hypnotization

Right after the quiz, it appears that Miku was moving with the black-boarder and her eyes were getting darker from the top. This is Miku Slowly falling into the trick of getting hypnotize. At the end when she was mesmerized, in proper English Miku said "shut down". It's because she was already maulfunctioning due to the hypnotization.

Teto sang the exact line that Miku sang, but she wasn't moving with the black-boarder on the side because Teto was resisting the hypnotization and trying her hardest not to fall for the tricks of falling into fake emotions. The sky was blue and then turn to dark and this progressively got faster. It changed 10 times through out that part which shows that Teto has to resist the tricks for 10 days.

Greenscreen

After hypnotizing part, the background was a greenscreen. This is actually hinting that everything is fake and they're already in a simulation of escaping out of reality.

After the the greenscreen, Teto was sweating because she knew Miku was hypnotized and Miku was gonna loose control soon. When Teto was dancing, her eyes were looking at Miku. Teto having a eye on Miku is becuase she was terrify and scare. After Miku dance is also when the confetti starts coming in again.

Miku's dance move was perfectly fine until the part where it's faster her move starts to slip. Those moves were unusual, it looks like someone was controlling her with string and she looks like a puppet. Her emotions also became uniformed and didn't have anything unique.

Hypnotized

Miku

Miku completely losted control after the 1,2,3 countdown. Her eyes and mouth were jet-black. Her move was still like a puppet. She might be smiling, but she was out of control completely and certianly she wasn't feeling happy on her inside at all.

Teto

When Teto saw Miku losted control, she stopped bouncing for a second becuase was very horrify. She tries her hardest not to flinge and stay smiling for the viewers. At the end of the music video, Teto couldn't resist the hynotization anymore and she was hypnotize. Her eyes turned black just like miku did.

Confetti

The amount of confetti incressed alot at almost the end of the video.
