Liquid is very hard to compress, so my half-baked hypothesis would be that it would behave more like solid objects of similar size. Bass traps work because gasses like air compress readily and the material in them, whether fiberglass, woolen materials or other solids that have a large capacity to contain air will convert mechanical energy, like bass sound waves, to heat and damp the low frequencies.

She is really trapped because if she decides to admit adultery (platonic or otherwise), her life will become a living hell. The situation is far more oppressive when experienced in a rural environment, in a smaller community.

If you have an unsteady drone sound, drones shutting down, or a very wet and flat pipe chanter reed after playing for a short perion of time, you should install one of the water traps bolow. If you have any questions please give us a call.

All parts of ring nets and star traps must lie flat on the sea bottom and may not restrict free movement of crab until lifted. Shellfish pots must be covered by water at all times while being fished.

Crab pots must not exceed 13 cubic feet.

Kinston Mayor Dontario Hardy, Public Services Director Steve Miller, Mother Earth Brewing founder Trent Mooring, Neuse Riverkeeper Samantha Krop, Sound Rivers Executive Director Heather Deck and Lincoln City Rising representative LaVerne McAllister spoke to the assembled crowd, each sharing how the trash trap contributes to a better Kinston, and communities downriver from Kinston, and their dedication to environmental stewardship.

There are many methods for cleaning drains. Some people use chemical drain cleaners and have good results. Chemical drain cleaner can be harsh on your pipes, though.. Bio-enzyme drain cleaners are less strident and are great for breaking down organic matter like food particles in particular. You can also make your own drain cleaner at home with baking soda and vinegar, then clear the drain with hot water.

If you have a slow draining sink as well as gurgling noises, another solution for removing small clogs is the plunger. Take your plunger and add petroleum jelly to the lip of the plunger cup for a better seal. Plunge straight up and down over the drain for about a minute at a time to see if there is an improvement in how the water flows.

It is probably the drain for the unit. The sound you hear may be water dripping into the sink trap, or it may be sounds coming through the tube from the unit itself. You're the investigator!

The airconditioner condensate drain is connected to the drain just below the sink. There is no water in its trap, either because the AC is not being used or the humidity factor is very low. When the unit is running air blows down that pipe, and sound also travels through it and that is what you hear.

That sounds like a very logical explanation. Does anyone know an easy way to fix it? Would it be as easy as just disconnecting that hose that runs to the drain from the AC/heating unit and then just reconnecting it? It kind of sounds like there is just trapped air in there or something.

Thanks for your help. I am starting to get pumped that I might be able cure the problem easily.

There may be a vertical pipe at the air conditioner that pouring water into would reseal the trap, at least until it dried out again, or the humidity rises to the point where there is condensation once you start using the A/C,

Hi,

My kitchen sink makes a dripping noise after I have run the water but I can see that there is no water dripping into the drain from the sink. I can tell that the drip is coming from underneath the sink, just under the catch plug.

I have tried to run hot water, hot dishwashing cleaner water, Draino and Liquid Plumr, to clean out whatever may be on the underside of the drain but that turns out to be when I hear the drip the loudest/most often.

What can I do? The dripping is pretty noisy and goes on for alot longer than I would have thought it would. It does stop after a few minutes but it goes on for a lot longer than you would think it would.

I repeat, there isn't water dripping from within the sink. It seems to be some sort of problem underneath the drain, where the drain meets the sink.

Thanks so much.

John, if this is just a noise and you don't see water dripping, the problem might be thermal expansion of the drain pipe. The hot water causes the pipe to expand and if the pipe is too tight to framing members or the cabinet, as the pipe moves, it can create noise. If the noise sounds like it is coming out the drain, it could be the water seal in the trap getting siphoned out. Improper venting could cause this.

If it is a PVC drain line, it is probably thermal expansion of the pipe "ticking" or moving across a piece of wood making this sound that resembles a dripping noise. Hot water will create the loudest noise, since the piping is expanding, and then when it cools down, slowly contracts to its normal size.

Same reason why vinyl siders never nail the siding in tight. Thermal expansion of the product through temperature variances.

The only drips you would hear would be water dropping off the bottom of the drain fitting and splashing into the water in the trap. If that is happening there is nothing you can do to change it other than use a different drain fitting in the sink. If it is an expansion noise in the wall, then it will always happen regardless of anything you do under the sink. Do you have a reverse osmosis water system? They can cause the noise you hear.

Thanks all. I think HJ nailed it with "water dropping off the bottom of the drain fitting and splashing into the water in the trap. If that is happening there is nothing you can do to change it other than use a different drain fitting in the sink" which I will look into. Cleaning doesn't seem to help. I don't think it is expansion noise.

As for whether this is a house or apt, it is a garage apartment. I am on the second floor of the garage.

Thanks again.

One feature that I particularly liked was Trigger Traps ability to trigger a flash gun when a sound was made. This allowed for some creative captures for example when a water filled balloon is burst and captured at high speed (short flash duration)

I set the X-T2 to take a 5 second exposure and the Trigger Trap Mobile App to Trigger when a sound is detected. I turned the lights out in the room to avoid any ambient exposure and dropped the ping pong ball from two feet.

Because the high pressure wall of the acoustic bottle exerts a pulling force, there are no sound waves passing through the null pressure interior of the bottle and the bottle can be used for acoustic trapping. Furthermore, the bottle beam is not influenced by any obstacle placed inside the bottle and can even restore itself when an obstacle blocks its path, as the researcher demonstrated with a steel rod.

Yes, it probably is. If a swishing or gurgling sound is heard in the radon pipe, then it has partially or even completely filled with condensation. Water from rain, snow, and condensation is normal in any radon system but special measures need to be taken to deal with it. So what should you look for?

Adjusting a poorly run radon pipe canbe a challenge especially if it has been walled in. What may be a simplesolution to improper pitch or a trap in the line is to add a drain.Since this is a radioactive gas the drain line has to sealed.

WhatI have done is tapped a small barbed fitting into the problem area andanother further down the pipe on a vertical section and connect the twoareas with a small hose. The water will drain off as it suppose to andthe noise will stop.

All steam traps need proper maintenance. Establish a maintenance calendar and adhere to it. Regularly scheduled maintenance can identify and anticipate problems. External visual inspections can reveal signs of corrosion and leakage. Whether the steam trap is functioning properly or not, observation is the first step in maintenance and troubleshooting. You may find other early signs such as a cold trap with no discharge, a hot trap discharging a torrent of steam, or sluggish heating, or noisy, banging, pounding pipes, all of which indicate a steam trap problem.

In sum, the best way to ensure longevity is to schedule routine inspections, keep steam traps clean, and be alert to troubleshoot. Dirty traps can cause plugging or leaking and lead to failure. It can also cause pressure surges, which could damage the steam traps and-or cause water-hammering throughout the system, wherein, your traps will wear out prematurely. For that reason, testing and troubleshooting are essential to maintain peak performance of your steam traps.

This is the same principle that causes the gurgling in your drains. When you flush your toilet, air needs to be able to fill the spot vacated by water, and water needs to be able to flow into spots and replace air. When your plumbing is working in perfect condition, this is normally not a problem, leading to simple and quiet operation. This is because your plumbing system usually has avent that allows air to easily access your pipes and fill in the spots where it needs to, essentially performing the same function as poking a hole in the top of a bottle as you drain it.

A flush toilet (also known as a flushing toilet, water closet (WC); see also toilet names) is a toilet that disposes of human waste (principally urine and feces) by using the force of water to flush it through a drainpipe to another location for treatment, either nearby or at a communal facility, thus maintaining a separation between humans and their waste. Flush toilets can be designed for sitting or squatting, in the case of squat toilets. Most modern sewage treatment systems are also designed to process specially designed toilet paper. The opposite of a flush toilet is a dry toilet, which uses no water for flushing. e24fc04721
