My problem is pretty easy to describe, every type of water flickers and when it flickers I hear a water splashing sound effect. It happens to me indoors, in dungeons, and outdoors. I haven't figured out if I'm doing something that triggers it. Sometimes, but not always, when the water flicks and the sound effect plays my screen darkens too, I've only noticed this outdoors. If I'm in a dungeon and there is no visible water, I'll hear the sound effect. I've tried removing the Immersive Sounds - Compendium and Audio Overhaul for Skyrim 2, but the problem continued. I then removed the Realistic Lighting Overhaul mod and the problem persisted.

If you have trouble sleeping, water sounds can be a great way to support your sleep and encourage better rest. I regularly play ocean sounds and rain sounds as part of my bedtime routine to help me fall asleep.

Water is a fascinating recording subject because it can create a huge variety of possible sounds! Splashing, gurgling, crashing, bubbling, trickling, dripping and draining are all useful as sound effects and design elements, but they can be challenging to capture if not prepared. I've assembled 4 tips for capturing evocative water sound effects, with examples to demonstrate. We've also bundled together a selection of these water recordings, which can be downloaded for free! See the link at the bottom of the post for details.

While it can be fun to get wild and crazy when recording, water and humidity are dangerous and damaging to electronics. Saltwater is especially deadly, as small amounts can corrode over time, slowly destroying your gear from the inside. RF condensers, such as the Sennheiser MKH series, are more resilient to humidity and liquid intrusion. Still, most if not all microphones will suffer serious damage if soaked while receiving 48v.

When recording environmental water sound effects, such as rivers, streams and waves, it is important to search for points of interaction, where obstructions give the moving water a voice. Often these are rocks, but there are many examples available, such as shells and bones, plant life and man made obstructions like piers and docks. All of these points of interaction shape the character of the sound and create interesting variations and textures. A rocky shoreline with water pooling and splashing will often enable a more dynamic recording than one created on a flat sandy coast, though both have value.

Discover the versatile world of aquatic audio with WATER IN MOTION, a sound library designed to provide sound designers and game audio professionals with an extensive array of water sounds. This library equips you with the tools to create your very own sound effects and design water foley scenes right out of the box.

Putting sound quality and versatility at the forefront we captured every detail of the water sounds with highest precision. The result is a collection of extremely clean sounding water recordings that let you shape the sonic character to your specific needs! Every sound was recorded with a mono center microphone (MKH 8050 or Sanken co-100k) and a matched stereo pair of MKH 8040s by Sennheiser (note: only the nature-sounds and the designed tools have no mono file).

The library is split into two main sections: RECORDINGS and DESIGNED TOOLS. The RECORDING folder has every water sound you need ranging from simple bubbles to roaring waterfalls, rain, ocean waves, tons of everyday sounds, experimental water recordings, various movements and tiny to huge splashes. The DESIGNED TOOLS section comes with a vast array of pre-designed water sounds from big splashes, liquid whooshes, magic spell elements and morphing sounds to underwater ambiences and short textures.

Starting earlier today, I noticed that after my sim had used the washroom, there was an auditory water running sound. I was uncertain what exact object it was originating from, as the sim used the toilet, sink, shower, and bath tub to soak in.

I tried resetting all the different objects, deleting and buying a new version, etc. I also attempted going to manage worlds and back into the lot, and making a copy of the house in my library and placing a new one down. Even going to the main menu and back into the save it's in, the sound still remains, 24/7 in sim time, looping as if water was running.

A short term fix I found was to exit the game entirely, delete the local thumb cache as well as the spotlight one. Upon loading up my save, the sound is gone. However, as soon as the sim uses the facilities again, the sound loop appears again. I have also discovered upon reloading, that all the sinks/tubs/shower sound effects are layering upon one another, creating a very loud water running loop.

I have not added or removed anything from my electronic arts Sims 4 folder. For the time being I have muted the Sound Effect bar in my game, as it's the only way the sound disappears entirely. I should mention that I cannot hear the sound when my game is paused, but when I am in any of the three live mode speeds, it comes back full force and flows with the chosen speed.

I have been having the same issue. There is a loud running water sound coming from the bathroom in my sim's home. When I put the walls up and am in a different room on the lot, you can't hear the water. It's localized to just the bathroom unless walls are down. I have no CC or mods in my game and never have had any, so the solution posted won't work for me! I tried resetting all the bathroom objects and restarting the game. Anyone have any ideas?

When repairing the Island Living shower in game, when it breaks down; the 'swooshing' sound keeps sounding afterwards. A work around is to exit the game and delete the localthumbcache.package in The Sims 4 folder.

I've had this sound on my MacBook pro play for over a year and haven't been able to find the origin. Can't remember exactly when it started but I've had this computer for over 3 years now and wasn't a problem at first. I kind of ignored it for a while until I've had to present slides onto a TV and speakers and the sound has played extremely loud even when my laptop is on mute. There's no notification that pops up, I don't use any 3rd party apps that were on at the time of the sound playing, and I've checked the activity monitor for anything unusual. Nothing. I can find nothing and it's driving me nuts. Any suggestions would be great.

The few existing studies that applied natural sounds in different settings, that is, during an operation,[3] before[4] or after a stressful task in the laboratory[5,6] report meaningful stress-reducing effects. In the study by Arai et al,[3] the patients underwent an operation under epidural anesthesia. They were assigned to either listening to natural sounds or they had no acoustic stimulation intraoperatively. It was reported that the activity of salivary alpha-amylase, a surrogate marker for the sympathetic nervous system (SNS) (e.g. [7]) was significantly lower in the condition with natural sounds as compared to the nonacoustic condition. Alvarsson et al[5] examined whether listening to natural sounds, as compared to noises, after a stress-provoking task was effective in reducing stress, as measured via skin conductance level (SCL) and high frequency heart rate variability (HF HRV). The authors found a faster recovery in the natural sounds condition in SCL, but not in HF HRV. It was concluded that listening to natural sounds after stress exposure is facilitating sympathetic, but not parasympathetic, recovery.[5] Annerstedt et al[6] examined stress recovery processes of natural sounds in combination with a virtual green environment (VGE). Increased parasympathetic activity was found in individuals who were listening to natural sounds in the condition with VGE after stress induction, but not in those individuals who were in the condition with VGE without sound or in control individuals who were neither exposed to VGE nor natural sounds. Finally, in an experimental study conducted by our own research group, we found that listening to water sounds before a major stress situation significantly reduced the subsequent cortisol response, an indicator for the hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal axis activation.[4] Together, these studies suggest a stress-reducing effect of natural sounds, as reflected by changes in the endocrine and the autonomous nervous system. This implies that listening to natural sounds may be a simple and easily accessible intervention that is capable of positively affecting the major human stress systems.

Given the fact that only little is known about the effect of natural sounds, it remains unclear whether the stress-reducing effect of natural sounds is universal (i.e., biophilia hypothesis) or whether it depends on interindividual differences, as is the case for music (e.g., [8]). The biophilia hypothesis posits that human beings subconsciously feel attracted to and seek nature,[9] which would imply that natural stimuli have a comparable, most likely inherent effect on all human beings. However, it is also assumed that mental or somatic conditions that affect perception, cognitive or emotional processing, or functioning of the stress systems, such as chronic stress (e.g., [10]), depressive symptomatology (e.g., [11]), or rumination (e.g., [12]) may moderate the stress-reducing effect of natural sounds. Of particular interest in this regard are somatic complaints, as they increase attention to one's own body,[13,14] in the form of an attentional or cognitive bias,[15] which might impede attention or concentration on the potentially relaxing stimulus. For instance, in a study by Eccleston et al[16], it was found that pain patients with high somatic awareness showed more attention deficits compared to those with low somatic awareness. Given that natural sounds are applied in health-related contexts, the knowledge of whether individuals with more somatic complaints benefit less from natural sounds would be of practical relevance. e24fc04721
