And , in the end, the logo, designed by the Martyr Turgut Solak Science High School team, has been voted as the official logo of the project :

Internet Safety Day

"water is life" team is taking part to the Internet Safety Day through a padlet where the thoughts of our students and teachers about this topic have been collected.

A pre-test about the awareness of the importance of water saving, pollution and depletion of water resources has been submitted to teachers, students and their parents.
59people took part to the test and here are the results:
-80% of the people taking part to the survey are students
-Over 50% declare themselves aware that water is a finite resource and they try not to waste water in their dayly lives
-Over 40% don't know what gray water is
-60% of them don't know how many mq of water are monthly used in their households
-42% have no info about the effect of global warming on ground water
-40% think that the concept of water consciusness has not been established in society

The informative poster "Water is Life" has been released. Students have commonly agreed with the following text to try to araise awareness of Water Footprint problem:
Water is one of the most important substances on earth.
If there was no water, there would be no life on earth.
Water covers 70% of our planet, however, only about 0.3% of the water resources on earth are usable and drinkable.
The amount of freshwater on earth has been the same since it was born and has been around in a cycle for millions of years but now this quantity is getting smaller because we are polluting it. Our irresponsibility has caused diminution of freshwater and this is the biggest threat to our ecosystems and human civilisations.
Widespread public awareness about this problem should be a top priority in our agenda as access to freshwater will be an issue for future generations.
We need to act now!

An e-book has been assembed by collecting the thoughs expressed by each group of students.
Topics are:
the awareness of the value of water
gray water
how to avoid wasting fresh water in our everyday lives
use of water in agricolture
