Google Synced - Watching Tracker
This is a lightweight, privacy-focused progress tracking tool. It helps you easily save URLs for videos, articles, or comics you are currently viewing and automatically syncs them across your devices via your Google account. Your data is never uploaded to third-party servers.
The interface consists of three main sections: Tracker, Settings, and About.
1. Tracker (Main Screen)
This is the primary area you will use, divided into the "Input Area" and the "Record List".
When you open the extension, it automatically captures the webpage you are currently browsing and fills the "URL" and "Title" input fields.
YouTube Exclusive Feature: If you are watching YouTube, the system automatically parses the timestamp in the URL (e.g., t=120s) and fills the "Progress" field, while filtering out unnecessary notification numbers from the title.
Manual Edits: Before clicking "Add to List," you can freely modify these three fields (for example, adding your own custom notes to the title).
Once everything is correct, click the green "Add to List" button, and the record will be saved and displayed in the table below.
The table is sorted by "Updated Time", so your most recently added or modified records will always appear at the top. For each record, you can use the action buttons on the right side:
Delete ( × icon ): Clicking this prompts a confirmation window. Once confirmed, the record will be permanently deleted.
Update ( ↻ icon ): This is a highly practical "replace" feature! If your viewing progress has advanced, first ensure the top "URL, Progress, Title" input fields reflect your latest state, then click the ↻ button next to the old record. A confirmation window will pop up. Once confirmed, the new content from the input fields will overwrite this old record, update its "Updated Time," and move it to the very top of the list.
2. Settings
Click "Settings" on the top navigation bar to access advanced features:
Language: Choose between "Auto (Browser Default)", "繁體中文" (Traditional Chinese), or "English". The interface will update instantly upon switching.
Prioritize URL from Clipboard:
Highly Recommended! When enabled, the extension checks your clipboard for a URL first when you open it. If it finds one, it prioritizes the clipboard URL; if empty, it captures the current tab.
Trigger Mechanism: To prevent duplicate readings, the system automatically clears your clipboard after you successfully "Add" a record.
Title display char limit: To keep the table layout neat and tidy, you can set a maximum character limit for titles (default is 20). Any text exceeding this limit will be displayed as .... Simply hover your mouse over the truncated title to reveal the full text.
3. Best Use Case (YouTube Example)
To fully maximize the potential of this extension, we recommend the following workflow:
Go to "Settings" and check "Prioritize URL from Clipboard".
When you want to save your progress halfway through a YouTube video, simply right-click directly on the video player.
Select "Copy video URL at current time".
Click the extension icon in the top right corner of your browser.
You will find that the system has instantly loaded the precise URL, the exact second of your progress, and the video title.
Click "Add to List", and your progress is saved in just one second!
