The Watcher's Woods - Privacy Policy
A multiplayer VR horror game for Meta Quest, made by Jesse.
Effective 19 October 2026.
THE SHORT VERSION
The game has no ads, no analytics, no in-app purchases, and no accounts of its own. We don't sell or rent any information about you.
When you play online, other players in your room see your username, your gorilla, its colour and cosmetics, and hear your voice. This goes through Photon, the multiplayer service the game uses. Your progress is saved only on your headset.

VOICE CHAT
The game asks for your microphone so you can talk to other players. Your voice is only sent while the game is open and you're in an online room, and only to the players in that room.
One monster in the game, the Mimic, plays back short bits of what other players said in voice chat to scare you. Those bits are kept only in your headset's memory while you play. They are never saved to a file, never uploaded, and are gone when you close the game.
You can turn off the game's microphone access at any time in your headset's settings. You can still play, but other players won't hear you.
SERVICES THE GAME USES
- Photon (Exit Games GmbH) runs the multiplayer rooms and voice chat: https://www.photonengine.com/privacy
- Unity (Unity Technologies) is the game engine: https://unity.com/legal/privacy-policy
- Meta runs the Meta Horizon Store and your headset: https://www.meta.com/legal/privacy-policy/
- LIV (LIV Inc.) makes the in-game camera (LIV Camera Kit): see LIV's privacy policy at https://www.liv.tv
We don't share your information with anyone else.
THE IN-GAME CAMERA
The camera you bring out from your wrist is made by LIV. Photos and videos you take are saved on your headset (in the Pictures and Movies folders), and only you decide whether to share them. If you turn the camera's microphone on, your voice is included in your videos. LIV may receive basic technical information (such as your headset model and how the camera is used) so the camera works and can be improved. If you choose to livestream, your video and sound are sent to the streaming service you pick (such as YouTube or Twitch), under that service's own rules.
CHILDREN
Please don't use your real name as your username. The game doesn't ask for your age, email, address, or real name, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you think a child has shared personal information through the game, contact us and we'll help.
YOUR CHOICES AND DELETING YOUR DATA
- Change your username in the game at any time.
- Play alone (offline) and nothing is sent to other players.
- Turn off microphone access in your headset's settings.
- Uninstall the game to delete everything it saved on your headset (username, colour, candy, cosmetics, levels completed).
We don't keep your information on our own servers, so there's nothing for us to delete there. For anything Photon, Unity or Meta hold, you can also contact them using the links above.
To ask a question or request that your data be deleted, email us and we'll reply within 30 days.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
If the game starts using information in a new way, we'll update this page and the date at the top before that change goes live.
