Waste Warriors - Waste Warriors

In this context, the "Waste Warriors" project is a joint initiative of 6 youth NGOs to provide an intercultural learning experience to 36 young people and 6 youth leaders. Through this experience, they will explore their creative and entrepreneurial potential to increase awareness about the importance of adopting daily eco-friendly practices and fostering more conscious behaviors.

The specific objectives of the Waste Warriors project were:

O1: Foster the creative spirit of 36 young people from 6 European countries that will motivate them to implement eco-friendly practices in their communities and support them in designing 6 green business plans that transform waste into functional products or services during a 9-day youth exchange in Valencia, Spain, in April 2024.

O2: Support young people in developing a more eco-friendly behavior by designing "The Green Impact 30-Day Challenge: Elevate Your Environmental Friendliness", a collection of small steps that can be taken in their day to day life for a more sustainable lifestyle.

O3: To organize 6 local workshops and create one online community for young people which will allow at least 180 young people to become familiar with the Green Impact 30-Day Challenge: Elevate Your Environmental Friendliness and the opportunities offered by the Erasmus+ Programme by July 2024.

The highlight of the project was a youth exchange in Valencia, Spain that brought together 36 young participants and their group leaders to explore and understand the importance of activating creativity in applying entrepreneurial skills. 🇪🇸 🇹🇩 🇧🇬 🇵🇹 🇲🇰 🇹🇷 The goal? 🇪🇺 LOCAL DEOR WORKSHOPS AROUND EUROPE 🇪🇺

🇹🇷 The Turkish team organized an engaging dissemination workshop at a local university, bringing together 45 enthusiastic young participants to learn about the Waste Warriors youth exchange and the exciting opportunities offered by the Erasmus+ program. The workshop highlighted the Turkish team's experiences during the exchange and introduced the transformative "The Green Impact 30 Days Challenge - Elevate Your Environmental Friendliness," inspiring participants to take actionable steps toward sustainability.

🇹🇩 The Romanian team successfully hosted an impactful dissemination workshop, bringing together 40 young participants, including both local youth and international students, for a dynamic exchange of ideas and inspiration. The workshop served as a platform to share the achievements and learnings from the recent youth exchange, emphasizing the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing environmental challenges.

Participants were introduced to The Green Impact: 30 Days Challenge – Elevate Your Environmental Friendliness, an initiative designed to encourage individuals to adopt sustainable practices and foster environmentally conscious habits. Through engaging presentations and interactive discussions, the Romanian team showcased the creative and practical solutions explored during the youth exchange. They shared their personal experiences, lessons learned, and the tangible outcomes achieved, inspiring attendees to think globally and act locally.

🇹🇩 The Romanian team organized a second successful dissemination workshop in Călărași, Romania, engaging 30 enthusiastic high school students during the Erasmus+ Days celebrations. For many attendees, this workshop marked their first introduction to the Erasmus+ program and its wide array of opportunities for youth mobility and international experiences.

The event aimed to spark curiosity and inspire action, presenting Erasmus+ as a gateway to exploring the world, gaining new skills, and participating in impactful projects. Through interactive sessions and engaging presentations, the students learned about the 30 Days Challenge: Elevate Your Environmental Friendliness. The challenge, designed to encourage sustainable habits, resonated deeply with the young audience.

Excited by the idea, the students decided to take on the challenge collectively, extending the initiative to their classmates. This collaborative approach fostered a sense of unity and purpose, empowering them to promote environmental awareness within their school community.

🇵🇹 In an effort to spread awareness about the project, the Portuguese team, in collaboration with their partner organization, hosted an engaging workshop in Penafiel, Portugal. This event brought together an enthusiastic group of over 60 young people eager to learn and connect.

Guided by the Portuguese team, participants explored the journey and flow of the project, gaining insights into its goals, activities, and impact. Through an interactive presentation, the team detailed the steps involved in joining an Erasmus+ initiative, shedding light on the application process, the opportunities it offers, and the transformative experiences participants can expect.

The workshop also featured an open Q&A session, where attendees had the chance to ask questions about Erasmus+ projects, clearing doubts and addressing practical concerns about participating in youth exchanges and mobility programs. The Portuguese team shared their own experiences, offering relatable examples and advice, which resonated deeply with the audience.

🇲🇰 To disseminate the project results, Macedonian young people organized a presentation at their local university, attended by 30 young students. During the event, they shared pictures and videos from the project, giving the audience a glimpse into the experiences and outcomes of the exchange.

The participants were also invited to join a WhatsApp group dedicated to the 30 Days Challenge: Elevate Your Environmental Friendliness, where they could receive guidance, tips, and motivation to complete the challenge together.

🇧🇬 The Bulgarian team hosted an interactive online workshop, bringing together 19 young people and youth workers for an engaging session filled with creativity and laughter. Sharing their experiences in the project, the Bulgarian team used memes and humor to make the session both informative and entertaining. This unique approach not only captured the audience’s attention but also conveyed the lessons and challenges of the project in a relatable and memorable way.

One Bulgarian team member shared:
"We wanted to make the workshop fun and approachable, so we decided to use memes to tell our story. It was amazing to see everyone laughing and connecting while still learning about our experiences and the Erasmus+ program."
