Patricio Simonetto is a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellow at the University College London (Institute of the Americas). He is a Doctor in Social Sciences and Humanities (Quilmes National University, Argentina). He is the author of 'Between Injury and Revolution. The Frente de Liberación Homosexual in Argentina' ['Entre la injuria y la revolución. El Frente de Liberación Homosexual en la Argentina'] (2017) and 'Money is not everything. The purchase and sale of sex in Argentina in the 20th century' ['El dinero no es todo. La compra y venta de sexo en la Argentina del siglo XX'] (2019). His main research focus is the social and cultural history of sexuality in Latin America. His thematic interests include social movements, gender and sexuality, and the social history of medicine.

Simonetto has completed internships at universities in Argentina, Mexico, United Kingdom and the United States of America. He has given keynote lectures at Brown University, New York University, City University of New York, Leslie-Lohmann Museum of gay and Lesbian Art, State University of New York, the Colegio de México, the Instituto Dr. José Luis Mora, the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, among others.
