Farzaneh Ghanbari
PhD Student, Computer Science
New Mexico State University
Farzaneh is a PhD student in Computer Science at New Mexico State University (NMSU), with a research focus on the interpretability and trustworthiness of knowledge tracing models. Her research examines whether knowledge tracing models that claim to be interpretable are genuinely faithful at the individual student level.
Farzaneh completed her Bachelor's degree in Computer Science at Shahid Bahonar University of Kerman. She then pursued her Master's degree in Computer Science, with a specialization in Scientific Computing, at Tarbiat Modares University in Tehran from 2013 to 2015. Her thesis focused on a face recognition method based on sparse representation. This experience sparked her interest in machine learning research and motivated her to pursue doctoral studies and research on the interpretability of deep learning models.
