The Stephanie Meyer vampire novel for teens exploded to movie screens in 2008 in an adaptation directed by Catherine Hardwicke. Though set in Forks, WA the film utilizes mostly Oregon locations with a little help from Washington. The sequels have gone the Hollywood cost-saving route by moving production to Vancouver, but the first film provides many great locations to check out in the great Northwest (although this site focuses on Washington State locations, I'd consider these an exception since it's supposed to be in WA and many of the locations are actually right on the border between the two states).
The opening shots of the deer being hunted by vampires was shot at Silver Falls State Park, east of Salem, Oregon. Some of the tree climbing sequence was shot here as well. "The Hunted" also filmed extensively in this park.
Bella's house shown at the start of the film was at 22301 Cataro Drive in Santa Clarita, CA.
The large bridge that Charlie drives Bella over in the title sequence montage is the Bridge of the Gods over the Columbia River near Stevenson, WA.
As the scene continues, they travel over Bridge Street on the Newhalem Highway into downtown Vernonia, OR (thanks to Twilightgirlportland).
The house where Charlie & Bella live in the film was shot at 184 South 6th Street in St. Helens, OR. They filmed the interiors here as well. Please beware it's on a dead-end private drive, so don't park here - walk. Enjoy it from the street & remember, people live here.
As she drives to school, Bella is seen driving over Silver Creek on Silver Falls Highway SE near the entrance to Silver Falls State Park east of Salem.
