In 2008 there were two events that got their start, the Fine Arts Festival and Taste of Washington.
Menards held their grand opening on Freedom Parkway.
In 2008 former teacher, coach, and administrator Brian Wisher made a six-figure donation to the school for the purchase of new lights for the football field, as well as installation of lights on the baseball field for the first time. The first night baseball game was played in the spring of 2009.
