The first phase of the recreational trail, a half-mile section from McDonald's to Central Grade School to Wilmor Road, has been completed.

Don Uphoff and Marie Van Stavern were the 1995 Washingtonian Award recipients.

Governor Jim Edgar opened the final stretch of the bypass to Eureka on November 7, 1995.

In 1995, the City Council approved the Brownstone Business Park plat, and hopes were high for quick business development.  As of 2025, this area, the cul-de-sac we know as Stoneway Drive, still sits empty.
