An auto accident claims the lives of four Washington youth.

Jose Anselmo Lofego from Brazil became the first AFS student to spend time in Washington.  He stayed with the Charles Adams family.

On November 8, 1964 the new Washington Christian Church was dedicated on North Main Street.

Byrd's Barber Shop opened on Peoria Street in the old Dairy Hut establishment.

The left picture shows a 1964 WGS school play when the old school bell was first dug out of storage for use as a prop.  This now refurbished bell sits in the high school entrance foyer.
