The Eureka-Washington Golf Course opened around 1925 and evolved into the Kaufman Park Golf Course.
In 1925, the Az-U-Lyk-It sandwich shop opened at South Main and Peoria on the Sweney Gas corner. This restaurant would evolve into the more memorable Mickey's Lunch restaurant, which would survive into the 1960s.
Christian Ebert (Ind) ran for re-election in the Mayor's office but was challenged by George Rinkenberger (D) and David Hartman (R). Rinkenberger (pictured above) won the three-way race with 47% of the vote. Rinkenberger would remain Mayor for three additional terms until 1933.
Herbert Marshall opened a service station on the west end of town at the corner of Peoria and Wood Streets. Future Washingtonians would know this station as the Hicks Station.
Washington held a grand centennial celebration in 1925.
The new Calvary Mennonite Church is dedicated.
The old Methodist Church was demolished and a new brick structure constructed.
