A curfew law was passed, making it against the law for youth under 15 years of age to be on the streets after 9:00 pm during the summer and 8:00 pm during the winter. The fire bell would ring to signal the curfew. In 1960, this curfew law was amended to 10 pm on weekdays and midnight on weekends. The 1960 law defines a minor as males under 21 and females under 18.
The Cemetery Association decided the "New Cemetery" needed a new name. After discussing several options, they decided to call it Glendale Cemetery.
