Membership is open to students kindergarten through college freshmen. The 4-H year begins in the fall, we take new memberships starting in August. New members continue to be accepted through April, although the experience may be limited by joining late. Our members come from all around including Big Bend, Mukwonago, Muskego, Waterford, and Waukesha. We have kids in public schools, parochial schools and home schooled.

General Meetings:
Our club holds general meetings each month year round typically on the 2nd Monday of the month at Christ Lutheran School in Big Bend. All club members and often their parents come to this meeting. Our youth officers run the meeting learning the basics of parliamentary procedure, planning and leadership. At our meetings we usually have a short business meeting, project presentations, guest speakers, games and snacks.
Activities:
Our club plans numerous activities each year as voted on by the kids. Past activities have included bowling, pumpkin farms, roller skating, waterparks, nature center, shows, tours, and more. Our club also participates in county 4H activities such as Showcase (music/ dance/ forensics solo or group ensemble), Curtain Call (club drama skit), Basketball Tournament, Junior Leaders group, Demonstrations, Family Fun Night and many more.
Community Service:
4H is a great way to give back to your community. We conduct many community service projects each year, such as Christmas Caroling and hosting Bingo at nursing homes, writing letters to soldiers, making Valentine's Cards for the elderly, making blankets for Children's hospital, bike trail clean-ups, recycling, planting flowers, and riding in parades.
Projects: In addition to the general meetings and club activities, club members pick projects to join each year. These are special interests they want to learn about that year. These are things they do research on all year, go to project meetings on, talk to experts to learn more about it, take classes about it or go on field trips to learn more. Sometimes we have project leaders (typically parents) who lead a group of kids in a project, and sometimes families do it on their own. See our projects page for more info on the types of projects we offer.
Fair:
The culmination of 4-H project work is entering and showing projects for judging at the Waukesha Co. Fair the third week in July. Qualifying projects from the County Fair can also be entered at the Wisconsin State Fair.
Awards, Trips & Scholarships:
Our kids have the opportunity to win many County and State awards through 4-H, and many of our members participate in the awards banquet each year. 4-H members can win various trips, including State 4-H conference at UW Madison, attend Space Camp in Alabama, Leadership Camp in Michigan, National Conference in Washington DC, National Congress in Atlanta, and more. 4-H also offers college scholarships.
