I was born in Utah, but adopted and moved to where my family was already living in Saudi Arabia. I was there until I was 12, then my family moved to Utah. In the last 20 years of marriage, I've lived in Orem, Midvale, Lehi, and now, hopefully our forever home, Santaquin. In my past life before kids I was a surgical technologist and love all things medical, but decided I needed to be home with my kids during these early years while they still like me. I have 3 beautiful kids and love spending all my free time with them. I'm an animal lover and pet owner. I can't think of any time in my life where I didn't have a dog or two. When trying to figure out what kind of job I could do from home, it just made sense to do dog grooming! I currently have 3 dogs: Mabel, Pearl, and Daphne; and 1 cat: Luna.
I'm a fairly new groomer, now working for 2 years. I worked as a bather many years ago, and then recently worked at Petco for almost a year. I went to the Utah School of Pet Grooming in SLC in 2022. I started grooming out of my home in August 2024. I may not be the fastest groomer, but hopefully my attention to detail will make up for that. I can promise that I will try my best and hope I can make you and your fur baby happy.
My goal is to help my family financially, while still maintaining my house and keeping my sanity! I have grown to love so many of these dogs that I work with, and I'm grateful for the opportunity I have. While this last year we worked 4 days a week, I will be moving to three days a week to be more available for my family. Unfortunately Mychael had to leave, but will occasionally come and help as needed.
Thank you for being patient with me during this transition time as I know not everyone will be able to get an appointment as quickly as you once were able to.
Originally from Minnesota, I have lived in Utah from 25 years. I have lived here in Santaquin with my husband and 4 children for 8 years now. We have 3 dogs, including two very large Leonberger's and a miniature dachshund. Although I don't love the hair everywhere, life would not be the same without any of them.
I am a fairly new to the grooming game, and I have loved having Melissa to mentor me as I learn new skills and continue to perfect the ones I have learned. I have always loved dogs, and I really try to make each dog feel as comfortable as possible. The goal will always be to have the dog leaving happy while looking and smelling good, and hopefully he/she will also be more comfortable with the process at the next appointment.
I don't have the best pictures. These are mostly of my own dogs.
