In an effort to codify the abilities of exceptional beings and calculate appropriate countermeasures for those who pose a threat, experts at AEGIS have developed the AMP classification system. With the three categories of Agility, Might, and Power creating a shorthand to quickly quantify the talents of heroes and villains alike.
While some achievements can be explicitly measured, others are a rough abstraction of an individual's capabilities. This is important to understand since some beings are not available for overt assessment, or because testing the limits of such features may be unethical, and their AMP scores are estimates based on observations.
The AMP scale ranges from six to thirty. The typical, unamplified human scores at or near ten, and most noteworthy individuals have scores around fourteen or higher. AMP scores above 20 are rare, globally recognized entities approaching godlike powers.
Agility reflects athletic prowess, keen reflexes, or enhanced speed. Beings who score high in this category have typically reached such levels through dedicated training, or but can also be through technology or other sources of augmentation.
Two subcategories accumulate the Agility score: Fighting Ability and Speed. Individuals who score high in both are rare and remarkable, and so an Agility higher than seven is truly a force to be reckoned with.
Human history is replete with storied legends of feats of strength, making Might perhaps the most common category of augmentation. While there are many beings who score high through more traditional means, the most breathtaking examples are superhuman in origin.
Might splits into two categories: Brawn and Endurance. Given the nature of physical laws, high scores in these two tend to go hand in hand, and those with might scores as low as six are monumental creatures indeed.
Considered by many to be the most controversial AMP score, Power covers not only the spectacular displays of energy-- both destructive and otherwise-- boasted by many individuals, but mental abilities as well.
The Power score aggregates the measurement of Energy Projection and Mental Ability. They are not necessarily tied together, but not wholly separate. Those with a score as low as five are, at best, valuable assets, or dangerous foes at worst.
