Coach Wetzel has coached travel hockey at all ages for 17 years. He played his youth hockey with the Frederick Fury and he played 3 years at Towson University ACHA D1. Coach Wetzel's philosophy is that proper skill and concept development, good mental preparation habits and confidence breeds success. He believes in developing not only the the body or skills for the game of hockey but also the development of the mind. Hockey should be fun but also challenging and rewarding. The opportunity to develop young athletes is his passion. Coach Wetzel currently assists all the Hagerstown Bulldogs Travel Hockey coaches and players with skill development and hockey concepts at practices.

Coach Justin has over 25 years of playing experience, growing up near Pittsburgh, PA and playing through AAA travel and 4 years of college hockey at Penn State D3. He has over 5 years of coaching experience, including most recently with 8U and 10U in Hagerstown, plus assisting with the Hagerstown youth skills, learn to play, and power skating programs for the past 4. He believes there’s no one size fits all model for player development and that open and transparent communication is key to build trust and foster a positive team culture. It’s important for players to know what they’re asked to do but more important to understand why.
Coach Hammer has 20 years of coaching experience. He played his youth hockey and high school hockey in Shakopee, MN. His coaching philosophy is to value hard work and developing talent, while remembering to always have fun. Coaching is his life passion. The opportunity to develop young men and women into better hockey players and people is what drives him.

Coach Kimmel has been playing hockey for over 25 plus years, playing his youth hockey with the Hagerstown Bulldogs and the Howard Huskies. Coach Kimmel played college hockey for Penn State Berks D1 ACHA. Coach Kimmel wants to see his players play with speed and control the pace of the game. He believes his players should work as a unit but allow the players to use their individual creativity to dictate play. Coach Kimmel is currently an assistant coach for the Washington County Northstars High School Team.
Coach Sweeney has been playing hockey for 25 years, playing his youth hockey with the Hagerstown Bulldogs and his college hockey with Lebanon Valley College ACHA D1. He has been coaching youth skills, learn to play, and power skating in Hagerstown for past 6 years. When it comes to coaching he wants to see hard work and simple and efficient hockey but still appreciates creativity and encourages players to think outside the box when necessary. Coach Sweeney is currently the head coach for the Washington County Northstars high school hockey team.
Goaltending Coach
Coach Morgan has been playing hockey for 25 years, playing with Middle School and High School teams. After High School he played hockey for Alvernia College ACHA D3. He has been coaching for 6 years starting with Victory Hockey in Frederick, Hagerstown Bulldogs, and most recently with Western Maryland Goaltending where is the owner/operator. He is currently a level 4 USA Hockey Coach and holds the Silver Level Goaltending Certification. As a coach he looks for hard workers, who show up to push themselves every time his goalies touch the ice. He is a firm believer in mastering the fundamentals of the position. His goal as a goalie coach is to fill the void of goaltending coaching for any goalie who wants it and to help each goalie succeed and grow. He is currently the Head Goaltending Coach for the Hagerstown Bulldogs and works with various other organizations to help their goalies become better and learn the position.
