Massage is a general term for pressing, rubbing, and manipulating your skin, muscles, tendons, and ligaments. Massages may range from light stroking to deep pressure. There are many different types of massage here are some offered by us.
Swedish massage. The Swedish massage is one of the most common types of massage you can get. It is performed to energize the body and improve overall health. This type of massage involves actions like percussion, kneading, vibration, tapping, and rolling. Massage oil or lotion is used to protect the skin from friction.
Cupping. Cupping increases blood circulation to the area where the cups are placed. This may relieve muscle tension, which can improve overall blood flow and promote cell repair. It may also help form new connective tissues and create new blood vessels in the tissue.
Sports massage. Sports massage has several different purposes. It is used to prepare athletes physically and psychologically for competition, assist their recovery after the stress of major events, help them maximize the benefits of training, support overall physical fitness, and prevent injuries to muscles and joints during workouts or competitions.
Deep tissue massage. Centers on realigning the deeper layers of connective and muscle tissue. It aims to release the chronic patterns of tension in the body through slow strokes and deep finger pressure on the tense areas, either following or going across the fibers of the muscles, tendons, and fascia.
Massage is generally considered part of integrative medicine. It's increasingly being offered along with standard treatment for a wide range of medical conditions and situations.
Massage benefits can include:
Reducing stress and increasing relaxation
Reducing pain and muscle soreness and tension
Improving circulation, energy and alertness
Lowering heart rate and blood pressure
Improving immune function
While more research is needed to confirm the benefits of massage, some studies have found massage may also be helpful for:
Anxiety
Digestive disorders
Fibromyalgia
Headaches
Insomnia related to stress
Low back pain
Myofascial pain
Nerve pain
Soft tissue strains or injuries
Sports injuries
Temporomandibular joint pain
Upper back and neck pain
Beyond the benefits for specific conditions or diseases, some people enjoy massage because it often produces feelings of caring, comfort, and connection.
