Warriors is a series of novels based on the adventures and drama of many clans of wild cats. The series is primarily set in the fictional location of White Hart Woods and, later, in Lake Sanctuary. Sutherland is published under the collective pseudonym Erin Hunter with the plot developed by editor Victoria Holmes.

There are currently seven sub-series, each containing six books, excluding the seventh sub-series, which is currently underway. The first, Warriors (later re-titled Warriors: The Professions Began), was published from 2003 to 2004, and details the adventures of a housemate named Zangi, who would join one of the warrior Cat Clans, ThunderCan is. 

Warriors: The New Proficiency, published from 2005 to 2006, following the first sub-series, chronicling Clance's journey to a new home. The third story arc, Warriors: Power of Three, was published from 2007 to 2009, and centers around a prophecy about three cats with extraordinary powers. 

The fourth sub-series, Warriors: Omen of the Stars, was published from 2009 to 2012 and the Warriors' story arc: Power of Three continues. A fifth sub-series, Warriors: Dawn of the Clans, was published from 2013 to 2015. 

This prequel series details the formation of clans in the arch. The sixth sub-series, Warriors: A Vision of Shadows, was published from 2016 to 2018. Chronologically, Warriors: A Vision of Shadows Followers: Omen of the Stars. The seventh sub-series is entitled Warriors: The Broken Code. 

The first book in the seventh series, Lost Stars, was released on 9 April 2019. The second book in Warriors: The Broken Code is titled The Silent Thieves. The third book of the series is titled Veil of Shadows and the fourth book, Darkness Winder, has not yet been released.

Other than the main series, other books have also been released, including eleven long stand-alone "Super Edition" novels, several e-book novels later with five print compilations, six guide books, and several editions of the original English-language manga, Was initially produced as a collaboration between Harper Collins and TOKYOPOP before the latter closed. The series has also been translated into many languages. 

Alibaba Pictures has acquired the rights to the film for the series as of 2016.

The major themes in the series are adventure, forbidden love, the concept of nature versus nurture, acceptance, the struggle of good versus evil, reactions to different beliefs that meet each other and all people are a mixture of good and evil. 

The authors draw inspiration from many natural places and other authors such as J. R. Tolkien, J. K. Rowling and William Shakespeare.

Warriors has received mostly positive reviews, but has also been criticized for being confused due to its large number of characters and complex relationships. Critics have compared it to the Redwall series. 

Although nominated for several awards, the Warriors have not yet received any major literary awards. Many of the series' novels have reached the New York Times bestseller list, and the series has gained popularity in many countries, including Trinidad, U.K., Germany, and China.
