2020 was a crazy year and the covid pandemic was widespread throughout the country. Sean Mealey, the founding father of the Warren Fizz Ed Invitational, suggested a fun event where friends could gather to catch up in an outdoor setting. It was decided to have a golf tournament for all those willing to participate and the foundation of what is now the Fizz Ed Invitational was laid. The emphasis of the first event was having fun, breaking free from the lockdown, and catching up with old friends. This initial event crowned the first champions, which happened to be three elementary school physical education teachers from Warren along with a friend. It was the perfect ending to a much needed day of fun.
This first event in 2020 had such an outpouring of positive response that in The Warren Township Schools Physical Education Department decided to continue the event for a second year. At the conclusion of the second event an opportunity presented itself. Not only could this be a great way to get together to kick off the summer, but this could be an event to bond the community and give back. The committee of Warren Physical Education Teachers was formed to continue this event, to have fun, connect with the community, and raise money for a good cause. The summer of 2022 was the Inaugural Fizz Ed Golf Invitational, held at Beaver Brook Country Club in Annandale.

The 2024 Warren Fizz Ed Invitational is proud to support Camp Jotoni and The Janet Fund.
Proceeds from this years event will be donated to the Camp Jotoni Capital Campaign, which has been providing summer camp and recreation programs to children and adults with disabilities for over 40 years. Since its inception the Janet Fund has been dedicated to protecting New Jersey youth from sudden cardiac arrest. We are committed to improving survival rates by making Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) readily available at all schools, playing fields and youth sports events throughout New Jersey.
