About Us

It all started when some family friends asked if we could watch their dog while they went away.  As a teacher and mom to a young son, I had some time over the summer. We had our Basset, Hudson, at the time and everyone got along great!  With a young child and a dog of our own, we loved helping our friends out!  A few years later, we had another friend ask the same, and of course, we were happy to do it!  We all love dogs and it's fun to have guests!  By then, we had added Sailor, our rescue beagle mix to our pack.  

Then came Covid and everything stopped for all of us!  Our son decided to attend a regional high school to study veterinary science. By then Hudson was 12.5 years and we lost him in November 2020.  Once we got through all of that and people started venturing out into the world again, one of our friends decided to offer boarding, walking and sitting.  When he went on vacation, if anyone asked about care, he'd ask if we were interested.  We said yes and loved being "substitute" pet carers.   This is a role we continue to enjoy!

Here we are, about 10 years later and I'm looking ahead to retiring from full-time teaching in about 9 years.  It seemed only logical to pursue something we all love, meeting new people and their pets!  We accept just one family at a time to provide peace of mind and the attention your pets deserve!  We have experience with senior dogs, dogs with medical/health concerns, special needs, and medication administration.  Our son Brett is trained as a veterinary assistant and I am certified in pet first aid & CPR.
