The championship consists of 2 rounds:
A) Regular season: Every team plays against every other team once, to score points that will decide the final ranking, which determines who plays in the Playoffs. The last two teams will be eliminated from the championship. The classification will be based on the following priorities:
1) Points
2) Ratio of sets won (Won:Lost)
3) Direct comparison
4) Difference between scored and lost points across all matches
B) Playoffs: Elimination round to determine the champion of the tournament.
Game rules
- Matches will play sets at 21 points except the 3rd set that will be 15 points (if needed to play). Sets are won by scoring 21/15 points and having a lead of at least 2 points.
- If the score is 21-21: A Tiebreak ensues until a minimum lead of two points is achieved (e.g. 23‐21, 24-22, etc.)
- The first team to win 2 sets, wins the game (if it's already 2-0, third set is optional and does NOT count).
- We apply the same rules as the 4x4 BVPRBB (Beach Volley Championship from PRBB).
- At all times during the game, there must be ONE player of each gender per team on the field, so make sure you have enough players of the appropriate gender to comply.
Scoring rules
The 3 point rule applies:
- 2-0 = 3 points for the winner, 0 points for the loser
- 2-1 = 2 points for the winner, 1 point for the loser
- Additional sets do NOT count.
Penalizations
- Teams who have non-registered players will be penalized. If these players are externals, the team will be EXPELLED from the tournament. Neither excuse will be accepted.
- Matches will be postponed only by the organization in the case of RAIN and EXTREME WIND.
- Absence without previous announcement: MINUS 1 point for the absent team + the match will be considered lost 2-0.
- Violating the "min. 1 player of each sex on the field" rule: MINUS 2 points.
- The teams in charge of the net will be penalized 1 point for losing any piece from the net kit.
- Punctuality is a must. Games must start at most 15 minutes after the scheduled time. If a team is not ready at that time, it will be penalized with MINUS 1 point. If the team doesn't appear at all, the Absence without previous announcement rule will apply.
Incomplete team
- If a team cannot comply with the aforementioned rules, or it cannot have enough players, it will be considered incomplete. In that case, the incomplete team should contact the other team in advance and discuss the possibility to play with a player that doesn't belong to the team (but registered to the tournament) or with fewer players on the field. This option could be adopted in order to play all required games during the limited timeframe of the tournament.
