Wardrobe ("the app", "we", "us") helps you catalog the clothes you own, organise them, plan outfits and events, and keep a wishlist. This policy explains what information the app handles and why. We've tried to keep it plain and honest.
If you have any questions, contact us at bitbytecreation@gmail.com.
Your photos stay on your device. Item photos are stored locally on your phone. They are not uploaded to our servers.
We sync only text details (item names, categories, tags, prices, notes, outfit and event data, wishlist entries) so your wardrobe is backed up and available when you sign in.
We use your email only to identify your account and back up your data.
Location is used only when you choose to tag where you saw a wishlist item.
We never sell your data.
When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your email address and display name. If you sign in with Apple and choose "Hide My Email", we receive only Apple's private relay address, never your real one. We use these to identify your account, back up your wardrobe, and let you access it after signing in. You can also use the app as an anonymous guest, in which case no email or name is collected until you choose to sign in.
Photos you add are stored locally on your device only. They are not uploaded to our cloud. If you use the app on another device, previously added photos will not appear there.
Item details — names, categories, occasions, tags, prices, notes — and your outfits, events, wishlist items and any custom labels are synced to our cloud database so they are backed up and restored when you sign in.
If you tap "Use current location" while adding a wishlist item, the app reads your device's location to record where you spotted the item. This is entirely optional, only happens when you request it, and is stored with that wishlist item in your own account. We do not track your location in the background.
We collect anonymous usage information — which features are used, and lightweight "app opened" counts and timestamps — to understand whether the app is useful and to improve it. This is handled through Google Firebase Analytics and our own database. It is tied to your account identifier but is not used to identify you personally to third parties.
If you send feedback through the app, we store the text you wrote, your account identifier, and your email (if available) so we can understand and respond to it.
To provide and back up your wardrobe, outfits, events and wishlist.
To sign you in and keep your data associated with your account.
To understand usage and improve the app.
To respond to feedback and support requests.
We do not sell your personal information or use it for third-party advertising.
The app uses Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore database, and Analytics) to sign you in, store your item details, and measure usage. Your synced data is held in Google's Firebase infrastructure. See Google's privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
Some features run entirely on your device:
Background removal uses Google ML Kit's on-device image processing. Your photos are not sent to a server for this.
Maps: tapping a location opens your device's maps or browser app; we don't send your data to those apps beyond the place you chose to open.
Add from link: when you paste a product link, your device fetches that page to read its preview image and title. The request goes from your phone to that website; we don't run it through our servers.
Photos remain on your device until you delete the item or the app.
Synced text details remain in your account until you delete them or your account.
You can delete individual items, outfits, events and wishlist entries at any time from within the app.
To delete your account, open the account menu (the profile icon in the top-right of the main screen) and choose Delete account. This immediately and permanently removes your account, all synced data (items, outfits, events, wishlist and custom labels) and the photos stored on that device. It cannot be undone. If you do not see this option, update to the latest version of the app.
You can also request deletion at any time by emailing bitbytecreation@gmail.com from the address on your account, including if you no longer have the app installed, and we will delete the account and all of its data for you.
Access to your synced data is restricted to your own signed-in account through database security rules, and the app uses app-integrity checks to help ensure requests come from the genuine app. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
Wardrobe is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
