Development of First Geotechnical Centrifuge in Malaysia
Dr Wan Zuhairi has a great interest in high speed experimental research. He has successfully developed and built a first mini geo-technical centrifuge at Geology Program in Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. It took him about one year to build this high speed machine with the help of technicians from his organization. This machine is actively used for research such as to study the contaminant migration in soil, stability of embankment, landslide research and rock fall mechanisms.
