The purpose of this research is to discover a proper arrangement for indoor and outdoor social space through architectural theories and perspectives to enhance the children's development process in high-rise housing. Due to the continuous growth of high-rise residential properties, an effective property management system is required to ensure the sustainable development of high-rise properties that prioritise children as users.
Poor living conditions can prevent children from engaging in social and playful activities that are beneficial for their cognitive, social, and emotional development. An unsafe or cramped environment prevents children from exploring, interacting with, and learning from the environment. The risk of falling from heights, being injured while playing without parental supervision, child trafficking and kidnapping have been reported to increase compared to previous years. Children also tend to experience mental health problems most commonly through externalising (behavioural) and internalising (emotional) problems. However, by incorporating the child safety design and features into newly built homes and implementing early child care mental health strategies and programs to prevent incidents such as this from occurring.
